About the Author

Fred Lucero is the founder and director of the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF). He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law and has been practicing law for over 30 years.

Fred has been recognized for his work by numerous organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Humane Society of the United States, and the Animal Welfare Institute.

Fred lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife, Linda, and their two dogs, Lucy and Max.
